This blog is part of a degree unit Practice In Context that I am taking at London South Bank University. It aims to document my research into social computing concepts and themes including Blogging, Folksonomies, Podcasting and Second Life. I aim to find out how these social computing techniques affect the way we interact and collaborate online and how it changes or shapes the work we produce as Digital Artists. Over the next 12 weeks I will look, in depth, into various topics and choose one which I will focus on for my Research Portfolio.

The unit guide for this can be found at:

After weeks of research spanning a wide range of Web 2.0 topics i decided to focus my main research proposal on ideas of Identity and Representation through the social networking site, MySpace.com. Looking mainly at the self portraits found on the site, I will look into how identity is presented and shared with the help of digital technology.
